Course Registration
To schedule a training course, please fill out the registration form and include as much information as you can regarding the number of students and timeframes. All training courses are conducted in a classroom setting.

First responders at the “awareness level” (witness or discover a hazardous substance release and initiate the emergency response) must demonstrate competency in areas such as recognizing the presence of hazardous materials in anemergency, the risks involved and the role they play in their employer’s plan.

OSHA Knowledge Requirements

❖ An understanding of what hazardous materials are and the risks associated with them in an incident. (Ref.GI-1910.120(q)(6)(i)(A),CI-1926.65 (q)(6)(i)(A)) ❖ An understanding of the potential outcomes associated with an emergency created when hazardous materials are present. (Ref.GI-1910.120(q)(6)(i)(B), CI-1926.65 (q)(6)(i)(B)) ❖ The ability to recognize the presence of hazardous materials in an emergency. (Ref.GI-1910.120 (q)(6)(i)(C), CI-1926.65 (q)(6)(i)(C)) ❖ The ability to identify hazardous materials, if possible. (Ref.GI-1910.120 (q)(6)(i)(D), CI-1926.65 (q)(6)(i)(D)) ❖ An understanding of their role in an employer’s emergency response plan including site security and control, and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Emergency Response Guidebook.
